AIM temp files

    MMMMMMI would like to delete all my Instant Messender files.
    Can you tell me where they are located in 'window XP.

    What is system root ?
    The C drive?

    yes...

    I just do this:

    Start -> Search -> For Files and Folders -> All files and folders

    Then under "All or part of the file name" put in:

    *.tmp,~*.*,*.chk

    Then click search and delete what it finds.

    If C: is your installation drive, then that is the one to look on.

    %systemroot%\ is actually the windows folder

    Go here:
    C:\documents and settings\<username>\Application Data\Aim\<AIM username>\urlcache\

    My mistake. Mr_Webmaster is right. It should have been %SystemDrive%.
