    Hello,

I cannot get ahold of anyone in my class, and maybe one of you can help :)

Theres the table we base f off of.
    The problem:

    y=2f(x)

    x | y
    --------
    -2 |
    -1 |
    0 |
    1 |
    2 |
    3 |

Then I have to graph it. But thats easy. I have all the other ones figured out, but I missed this parts instruction.

    1. y=f(x+12) ?

I just need to know how I should write the effect? in words, and im good for the rest.

    Thanks!

So you just need to fill in the table for the y values?

Looks pretty simple to me. Looks like y will be equal to double whatever the function of x produces, since y=2( f(x) ).

I'm not sure what you want here cheese....

y=2f(x) <-- f(x) is the numbers in your X column. F(x) just means put whatever X is into that spot.

    Say you have this:
    Code:
    f(x)=sin(x)^2 + g(f(x))
and you have to solve for x = 30, then you just put 30 into the x spot, the f(x) at the beginning just shows that it is a function (it isn't relevant).

OOPS I didnt see the question ::eek:

    1. y=f(x+12) ?

That is a straight line. Whatever X is just add 12 to it. Then graph y=x+12; it will be a horizontal line on the y-axis.

And to angel and cheese, I started today..... but next year (when I'll be a senior  ) they are changing us to start after labor day. As you can see I'm also in Tejas.

    Hey,

I think I figured out the 1st one. It has to related back to the table of F I showed, but I think I get it.

For the 2nd part though Henry, I dont need to plot it, I just need a word summary of the "effect" of that equation.

Im not sure what I put there, as I missed that part of class :(

Just need an explanation on the 2nd one and im good. Thanks guys
