Hi. I am brand new to this site and need some advice. I have never bought a dell (I have an HP right now) laptop/computer but am about to. My husband has a dell credit account so that is where I have to buy from. I'm looking at 2 Dell laptops. Both are Inspiron 15 3000 but one has AMD® Quad Core A6-3400M Processor and the other has 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i3 Processor. Please help! I don't do any gaming if that helps...just social apps, surfing, watch netflix, check email, and pay bills.

    Here are the specs...
    **AMD Quad core-
    AMD A6-6310 Quad-Core APU with Radeon™ R4 Graphics
500GB 5400 rpm SATA Hard Drive
    Radeon™ R4 Graphics
15.6 inch LED Backlit Display with Truelife and HD resolution (1366 x 768)
    Dell Wireless-N 1705 + Bluetooth 4.0
    40 WHr, 4-Cell Battery (removable)

    *Intel Core i3
    4th Generation Intel® Core™ i3-4005U (3M Cache, 1.7GH
500GB 5400 rpm SATA Hard Drive
    Intel® HD Graphics 4400
    Dell Wireless-N 1705 + Bluetooth 4.0
    40 WHr, 4-Cell Battery

***Please give me any advice because he has to order this tonight!** Thank you so much!

theres not a lot in it - going by this site
    http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

    AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics>> 2456 710

    Intel Core i3-4005U @ 1.70GHz>> 2496 700

the two sets of numbers are the comparisons , and as you can see , not a lot of difference

    http://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2193&cmp[]=2290

But that is just based on a bench mark comparison
there maybe other features - that make a difference

    like Graphics
    maybe bluetooth
    number of USB
    if any are USB3

Hi and thank you for your reply Wayne!
They both say Wireless-N 1705 + Bluetooth 4.0 and they both say HDMI™ 1.4a, USB 3.0 (1), USB 2.0 (2), Security slot, Media Card (SD, SDHC, SDXC). The AMD Quad core has Radeon™ R4 Graphics and the Intel core i3 has Intel® HD Graphics 4400.

    Does this help at all??

I would say Intel. I suspect the Intel will be a bit faster, have a slight better battery life, and run cooler; all three things AMD generally struggles with.
