AMD chips have been made for sockets 1,2,3,5,6,7
and socket a (462)

Are we talking a new amd chip or an old K5/k6/k6-II?

Cheers

There was also a Slot A.

Most AMD, AMD Duron, AMD XP CPU's are Socket 462 also known as Socket A. AMd has been using this socket for several years, unlike Intel which has had several during the same period.
