I don't know why but yesterday, after restarting my computer it beeped once then went to the AMI screen. Plus my computer has become very slow it might have something to do with it. I am asked to press f1 or f2 and if I press f1 I go to this configuration screen and I don't know what to do. But I do see that the word BIOS is written everywhere on the screen. It dose that every time I turn it on. I haven't had any big problems except my computer is running kinda slow. How do I get rid of the message?

    Howdy Iftikarul...

First in order for us to help you, we need a little more info...

Are there any messages on the boot screen telling you why you have to press F1 or F2 to continue ?

Judging from the problem described, it may be a SMART error, indicating a failing hard drive, but without more info it's hard to tell...

What caused this? My computer is not old. Is this common? How long can I operate it without replacing it?

I've had new hard drives go bad out of the box, the problem is either bad components, or bad manufacturing, if your computer is not old the hard drive may still be under warranty ( You will have to check that with the manufacturer )...

As for how long you can operate it, who knows...a minute to days or months, the question is, How valuable is your data ?

If it were mine I would back up my data NOW, then replace the hard drive...
