I was looking for some other webcam program to install because the program my laptop came with (Life Frame?) won't work anymore. It's window just opens up, turns black, freezes, and then I have to close it.

I installed driverwhiz and my laptop went bonkers. I tried to remove driverwhiz and restarted my computer. A window popped up as it was starting back up. It read AmicoSinglun. I don't think it's a good thing. I want it to go away. Help?

As far as antiviruses go, I've got Panda Cloud Antivirus. I'm never sure if I'm using it right, though. I'm terrible with computers.

Hi and welcome to TSG :)

That is actually Alcor Micro USB Card Reader. Which is safe and legit.

    • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
    • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
    • Click on Install.
    • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
    • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
    • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Thank you for existing! :) I really appreciate the help.

For some reason, my system denied access to the host files.
They won't open in notepad. Even after hitting Run and doing as much as I could of what the window instructed. All I could get was a sample Host file. I couldn't make much sense of it as I am nearly computer illiterate.

The results of the scan do come up in a window though.

    Surely :)

    Try this
Download the HostsXpert 4.2 - Hosts File Manager.
    • Unzip HostsXpert 4.2 - Hosts File Manager to a convenient folder such as C:\HostsXpert 4.2 - Hosts File Manager
    • Run HostsXpert 4.2 - Hosts File Manager from its new home
    • Click on "File Handling".
    • Click on "Restore MS Hosts File".
    • Click OK on the Confirmation box.
    • Click on "Make Read Only?"
    • Click the X to exit the program.
    • Note: If you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.
