Is there a sysinfo utility for Android phones? I tried downloading the same one that I used on my laptop but my phone would not open the file.

No, the utility is designed to run on Windows. I've moved your thread to the Android Mobile Device forum.

To find out what is on your phone, swipe down from the top and tap on settings (gear icon).

Then if you scroll down to About device and tap that, you will versions of software and hardware installed as wll as device name and model number.
If you tap Device maintenance you should see battery, storage and RAM usage.
