I have a small animated .GIF file that I would like to see in the bottom-right corner of my desktop.

Does anyone know if this is possible/impossible?

You have to enable Active Desktop in your display properties. You can also make a web page to be displayed as a desktop...then you can get the icon exactly where you want it.
