About 2 months ago I contacted a virus which had completely locked my computer. The desktop would load, however I found myself unable to open ANY programs except Internet Explorer. When IE would open it redirected me to the site to download Anti Virus Scandart.

Since I needed my laptop immediately I paid for registration (like an idiot) and it alllowed me to open programs once again.

However, since then whenever I run any search engines I can not click on any result links without being redirected to various websites (normally through a site named "florida-traffic". The only way I can access a page's ACTUAL content is by clicking on the cached page and continuing from there.

Also, I am unable to access the "sign in" feature on youtube. Once I press the "sign in" button it simply takes me back to the home page for youtube.

My question is "Can I remove this program without affecting my pc and creating a similar instance to occur that would 'lock' my pc's capability to open programs?"

Please let me know. I know how to run programs just fine, but am quite illiterate in relation to the experience many of you have.

Thanks.

I have run MalwareBytes and it did find 2 viruses in the root folder for Anti Virus Scandart. I removed those 2 using MalwareBytes.
