another ikernal.exe problem

    anytime i try to setup my ati drivers i get this message "error installing ikernal.exe: the specified network name is no longer available.". I just recently updated from win 98 to xp so i know it has to do something with that..

    98 to xp is not really a good idea for you will have all kind of problems if the 98 machine was not clean and all drivers up today do you get this error after windows finish bootting up ?

    ive rebooted and tried in safe mode and i get the same error

    also you did not answer my first question but any way ikernel.exe is the Installshield engine the only time I've seen an error relating to it was while installing/uninstalling something, Most of the problems with ikernel.exe can be solved by disabling Antivirus while Installshield is loading. I've also seen reference to updating activeX and VB-runtime files.

    ya its definately the installsheild because when that bad boy pops up is when i get the error, and im pretty sure that most of my stuff is out of date, and i have a ATI radeon, i appreciate the help, where should i go to update my VB stuff?
