it has been my experience, that the volume controls within windows media player only controls the volume within that application - but with realplayer, is it possible that the volume control on the interface can affect system volume? my system volume was FINE this morning, then i used realplayer and put the volume down - next thing i know, i can't hear ANYTHING, in ANY application  - i'm convinced realplayer had to've been responsible, because i just opened it up again and raised the volume, and now my computer has sound again. well, if this rings any bells for anyone else having sound issues, that's a possibility to check into... *sulk* ~princi

that's exactly what realplayer does, the volume control on the player turns the volume on ur system up or down, unlike wmp which only does it for the player itself. annoying ain't it LOL :)
