Another slow computer (HJT Log)

    You guys helped me out recently with a different computer, and now everyone at work here thinks I can fix this one... It's running pretty slowly, I don't know if it's a virus or some other problem. I ran Ad-aware, Spybot, and CWshredder. Here's the HJT log:

    There don't appear to be any "security" or "malware" issues affecting performance.

    Heat issues can slow things down. Perhaps it just needs a cleaning.

    Also if you haven't already, you should install a startup/configuration editor such as msconfig and try disabling unneeded startups such as Direct CD for one.

    The same version of msconfig that is used in XP can be used in Win2K
