I downloaded something that had a virus tonight. I tried deleting the damn thing as soon as I see it but it won't let me. I run Norton...as soon as it's scanning the file the stupid virus thing shows up. I run Pandascan online because it always deletes the viruses that Norton is unable to. Not this time :( I am at my wit's end with this new virus!

    Here's my HijackThis log:

Anyway this keeps popping up about 20 times anytime I try deleting the file using my virus scanners:

close your P2P program, and go delete that file, if you download it all the wa, it will contain a virus.

I did not not download it all the way...only 100 KB. I closed my P2P program and tried to delete the file but it did the same thing.

ETA: I went into safe mode to delete it but it wasn't even showing up.

The last time I had a virus of this extreme it took me a week to remove it. I think I annoyed poor Rog with my neverending problem. Hopefully it won't require so much this time.

If you haven't already done so, try deleteing the file manually instead of using Norton.

Symantec's info on the virus can be found at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]

Also, I noticed at *least* two spyware "programs" loaded on your computer, http://webpdp.gator.com/v3/download...ptdmgainads.cab and http://207.188.7.150/16adcc41fc3b05...ip/RdxIE601.cab, although there may be one or two more. Since I see Spybot listed, I presume you have it installed. Start the program and update it through the "online" category, then do a full system scan. Having Spybot installed does no good if you don't use it. ;)

    Good luck! :)
