Became aware of these 12 updates from Susan Bradley's column today (6/16/17). I've seen it referred to as KB4025685 but when you go to that, you have a list of 12 (at least I got 12) updates that apparently need to be downloaded. Just wondering if anyone has done so yet, and with what outcome? Last month I installed KB 4022583 which is included again within this group of 12 and didn't have any problems.

Hello All - These updates were reported on Bleeping yesterday, and I too would like to know if it would be wise to download them.

I'll be setting up my Windows XP SP3/Windows Vista SP2 dual boot desktop in the next day or so to get it up-to-date for June 2017.
I'll advise you and Silversurf which updates appear for Windows XP.

I installed 12 updates that Microsoft released in June 2017 for XP computer. I have NOT tweaked my system and Windows update doesn't work on my XP computer. I manually download and install what is offered.

    Start here
    https://www.askwoody.com/2017/xp-sp3server-2003-security-patches-released-june-2017/
clcik the 12 XP SP3 links and you can obtain the downloads.

I've rebooted the computer several times and haven't noticed any problems.

These are the 9 high-priority updates that appeared for my tweaked Windows XP when I did a custom scan at the Windows Update site:
KB4021558 - cumulative security update for Internet Explorer 8
KB4021915 - security update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0
    KB4018556
    KB4022747
    KB4022884
    KB4022887
    KB4024323
    KB4024402
    KB4025218
    - security updates for Windows XP

If you don't have Windows XP tweaked to keep receiving updates, you may receive these 4 high-priority updates:
    KB4022747
    KB4024323
    KB4024402
    KB4025218

but I couldn't confirm that because I'm only running the tweaked version.

If your concerned about breaking something create a back up image before you install these just in case. Usually they set System Restore points when installed, but setting one prior to installation can't hurt. One of the links had three downloads SP3, XP64 SP2, and Embedded, I wonder if the 2003 server 64 bit would also go for XP 64bit SP2. I have XP 64 on one machine I use for recording TV programs just so I could use more memory. Maybe it's time to put Win7 64 on there at least for a few more years but it seldom if ever goes online. I wonder if there's a POS fix for the 64 bit version of XP.

The Microsoft Update Catalog site had these June 2017 updates for Windows Vista SP2 64-bit which I installed in my dual boot test machine.

    Nope. Just the 32-bit version.

They won't appear when "checking for updates" in Windows Update.
You need to obtain them from the Microsoft Update Catalog site.

After you download and save them, install them in order from the lowest to the highest KB number.
You can install all 5 of them before restarting your computer.

Look at my post #5. If you go to that website, all the updates are listed with hot links for downloading.
I prefer the download center more than the catalog because sometimes the catalog offers me a cab file.

It looks like those AskWoody links are for Windows XP SP3 and not for Windows Vista SP2.

Since this thread is in the XP part of the forum, I assumed that's what the OP was running.

    Silversurf jumped into pkoryn's thread.
He uses Windows Vista, so that's where the confusion lies.
