I have an old dryer....I had the blow bar replaced about 4 years ago. Now the dryer is acting strange. Gas dryer by the way. It turns on ok, you hear the ignition click...then the sound of the gas coming on whooshes REALLY loud and stays on....but....there is no heat! And the ignition clicking sound keeps on clciking. Any ideas? Take care. angel :)

Hey someone is bound to know something in our group! :)

maxx: I'm reading the page and every combo of trouble is there...except mine! lol The drum turns, don't know if the igniter glows, the clacking sound is there, makes the very LOUD flame ignition sound and no heat or barely any sometimes! :) Sounds almost like their diagnosis of failed gas valve or holding valve coil...foreign to me! Take care. angel :)

maxx: Ok! Blown up! lol I might end up jusr charging a new dryer. I've had this one over 8 years and got it used! But maybe it is something someone here knows about. I just don't want anything to do with the gas line! Where I used to live the landlord checked for leaks in the line with a lighter! I made sure I wasn't home then! My brother uses dish soap and if it bubbles...oops! :) Unfortunately my brother is too busy to look at the dryer for me right now and I have a load of towels in the washer already washed. Better string a line across the basement for now! Thanks maxx! Take care. angel :)

Kath: Get out of that gutter girl! :)
