anyone know what this fatal error is

    on XP PRO program dumps back to desktop then says

    fatal error
    access violation at address 0x33a649


    or any where i can find info for it

    you will need to be more specific like what program, when it happens etc

    so far on championship bass but its on my dads comp. and thats all the error says.

    around 2000. so u think it might be ram problem

    might be a compatibility issue. Try changing it to Windows 98/ME

    Also there must be more than that in the error message. Have your dad updated is OS to the most recent Service Pak?

    i have done that its SP2 right now. but i popped in a new vid card so just waiting for him to play so i can find out if it might have been the on board vid card.

    Sofware renderer and d3d... hmm sounds like the graphics is having issues with the rendering and/or directdraw. Updating the drivers of the video card usually works. What video card do you have?

    Also look in the readme.txt file that should be installed in the same game directory to see if there is any known video card issues associated with your video card (if applicable)

    ive done all that already. i am going to try to update the agp controller, now

    well couldnt find it for the ati radeon 9200 and epox mobo 4g4a. now it says !neagledll.dll error instead of softwaredll.dll error and it still has the d7 error

    well the d7 error actually says d3dim700.dll
    i even updated the bios and everything i can think of. when the comp was mine i built it to play morrowwind and it played it fine.
