    Hi Gang,

Upon boot-up, a fresh file is created in C:\Windows\Temp

It is : "~dfd7e3.tmp" (today, anyway).

I've run AdAware and Spybot to no avail. It creates a new
one every time I start up. It won't let me delete it, because it's
"in use" by another program. It changes it's letters slightly in
no particular order, but always starts with "~d " One other
thing, it's always 2KB when protected, then 1,472KB when a new
one comes up.THEN I can delete the old one.

This reminds me of new.net a while back. Which company received
a VERY irate call from yours truly.

Anybody have a clue as to what this pesky thing IS ?

    TIA

    -bonzie

Have you reviewed your start-up programs? (I assume you've looked at your own HJT log).
Check your MSConfig to see whats turned on as well.
    What OS are your running?
