I have installed aol 6.0 and when I try to bring it up it tells me that it has performed an illegal operation, I click on more details and it tell me there is a problem with the kernell32.dll file, I searched for it and it isn't there. I went to Microsoft updates and I downloaded the kernell32 update and aol still won't start, IE works find although it is provided by America online, I don't know what the problem is, any suggestions.

I would appreciate all your help,

    Hiya and welcome

Kernell32.dll errors can be down to spyware. Download AddAware www.lavasoftusa.com
Run it and ensure that all the boxes on the left are checked enabling deep registry scanning. You can remove anything it finds, except any references to Web3000. If you are unsure, you can post the details here.

    Regards

Afteryou finish with Adaware, it is a good chance that AOL got corrupted. If it gives you any problems, go to this site and follow the directions for the adapter under the AOL listing. Dont worry about the version #.
