Hi. My father-in-law's email acct is with AOL. He wants to start using Outlook 2002 instead of AOL's email facility. I set him up according to the AOL instruction (also double checked with Microsoft to make sure the instructions jived and they do). However, when he clicks on the AOL acct in Outlook, a dialog box pops up requesting his AOL password. Sometimes he has to enter it several times before the dialog box closes and the emails list. When he wants to send an email, the same dialog box pops up and stays up even when the pw has been entered. The email he wants to send ends up in the outbox and not sent.

I googled the internet and know that MS had some bugs with retaining the password. So, I downloaded the Office patches and now he has the latest SP on his Outlook. But, the problem persists. Any idea on what is wrong? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have to see if I can remote to my in-law's machine to try this fix. Will report back once I tried this.
