Please disable SpybotSD TeaTimer, as it may hinder the removal of the infection. You can enable it after you're clean.

    To disable SpybotSD TeaTimer:

Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
    Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
    Click on System Startup icon.
    Uncheck Teatimer box.
    Click Allow Change box.

Click Here and download Killbox and save it to your desktop but don’t run it yet.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
    http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
    http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Please click Scan, and check the following items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dmffe.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmffe.exe

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{3610CBD4-47CA-4EE7-9B3A-549D75EF6011}: NameServer = 85.255.116.124,85.255.112.196

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{49362AFE-BE45-44E2-8342-E6156A7FD35D}: NameServer = 85.255.116.124,85.255.112.196

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{5F50C222-1432-4925-9276-3F7A07C6A4BA}: NameServer = 85.255.116.124,85.255.112.196

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{E60B84E8-433F-4A0B-9BB6-268019079EAF}: NameServer = 85.255.116.124,85.255.112.196

Click FIX CHECKED. Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, reboot the computer into safe mode.

How to restart to safe mode

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
    • Put a tick by Standard File Kill.
    • In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time:

      C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmffe.exe

    • Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
    • It will ask for confirmation to delete the file.
    • Click Yes.
    • Continue with that procedure until you have pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.
    • Killbox may tell you that one or more files do not exist.
    • If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.
    • Next in Killbox go to Tools > Delete Temp Files
    • In the window that pops up, put a check by ALL the options there except these three:
      • XP Prefetch
      • Recent
      • History
    • Now click the Delete Selected Temp Files button.
    • Exit the Killbox.

Reboot back to windows normally now.

Before doing this, write down all the settings. Note that not all system/setups even have these settings, while some connection services will require them.

These instructions are basically for home users.

In the windows control panel, if you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections.

Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically

Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be available one some systems

Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK and type:

    ipconfig /flushdns

Then hit enter, type exit and hit enter again. (The space between g and / is needed)

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log into this topic.

I havent had any problems so far since i done this so, maybe its gone ( Usually AOL spyware detects the trojan frequently and blocks it)

    • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
    • Select:
      • Delete on Reboot
      • then Click on the All Files button.
    • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

      C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmtfd.exe

    • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
    • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Then reboot and post another HijackThis log please.

    • Download WinPFind
      • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
      • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
      • Dont do anything with it yet!
    • Download Track qoo
      • Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop

    Reboot into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

    Double click WinPFind.exe
    • Click "Start Scan"
    • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
    • Once the Scan is Complete
      1. Go to the WinPFind folder
      2. Locate WinPFind.txt
      3. Place those results in the next post!

    Reboot back to Normal Mode!

    Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If your Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Window asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and paste them in your next post along with the results of WinPFind!

    Heres the WinPFind log:

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

Boot to safe mode and run Killbox again on these files:

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CSOSZ.EXE

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMWXE.EXE

    Download Cleanup from Here
    • A window will open and choose SAVE, then DESKTOP as the destination.
    • On your Desktop, click on Cleanup40.exe icon.
    • Then, click RUN and place a checkmark beside "I Agree"
    • Then click NEXT followed by START and OK.
    • A window will appear with many choices, keep all the defaults as set when the Slide Bar to the left is set to Standard Quality.
    • Click OK
    • DO NOT RUN IT YET

Download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here.
    • Install ewido.
    • During the installation, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
    • Launch ewido
    • It will prompt you to update click the OK button and it will go to the main screen
    • On the left side of the main screen click update
    • Click on Start and let it update.
    • DO NOT run a scan yet. You will do that later in safe mode.

Click here for info on how to boot to safe mode if you don't already know how.

Now copy these instructions to notepad and save them to your desktop. You will need them to refer to in safe mode.

Restart your computer into safe mode now. Perform the following steps in safe mode:

    Run Ewido:
    • Click on scanner
    • Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
    • During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
    • When the scan is finished, look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
    • Save the report to your desktop

    Run Cleanup:
    • Click on the "Cleanup" button and let it run.
    • Once it’s done, close the program.

Go to Control Panel - Internet Options. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Restart back into Windows normally now.

Do a Panda Active Scan. Be sure to save the log it creates.

Come back here and post a new HijackThis log, as well as the logs from the Ewido and Panda scans.

Ok, can you give me some advice, somehow i just keep getting more and more trojans that im sure are off the same thing, they keep installing UnspyScanner on my pc also

Should i just wipe my computer and start again, its brand new almost so doesnt have much on it anyway, i came on tonight and AVG popped up about 5 times saying i had different trojans...

You think i should just wipe it? Cause to be honest i dont really want all this anti virus software aswell, just a normal amount would do as i seem to have the full collection after trying to remove these viruses.

    Thanks - Mark
