When I try to open AOL, I get the following error:
"AOL will now install the files required for you to connect to the service. Click yes to install these files."
When I click "yes", I get an hourglass, but nothing else happens.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling AOL from internet download and AOL cd. Same error. I even tried COMPLETELY removing it with some powertool application before I used the software cd.
recent history:
computer is still under warranty and I just went through an extensive support phone call with a tech who found/removed (i thought) tons of spyware. apparently my norton was not working correctly and allowed all this crap to infect the pc.
so...
what should I do?

Hi shamarketing. Use this utility to remove all aol files
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
Then try and reinstall aol. I do not want to do norton an injustice but I think you would be better off with avg antivirus and avg antispyware both are freeware and run without any problems.
