app store apps forever 'pending'

    just got brand new windows 8 laptop, im new to windows 8..thought i'd get some apps. nope. every app is pending despite deletion, cache clearing, and trying other methods seen online (fix windows update etc) that are not working at all. very frustrating..can this be fixed?

    I don't think you have a problem. Several of the more popular apps are subjected to heavy download, and you are probably being queued.
    For example, the VERY popular time waster, ms solitaire, remains one of the most downloaded packages in the store, and can take a while.

    You may have messed up the request to download, but, again, unlikely. How are you trying to stop the installation/download? If you click the download icon, normally a popup will be seen at the bottom of the screen, with ano ption to cancel the download. If you can achieve this, I would suggest you try your downloads from the start, one by one, and see if there is any particular item which is hanging.

    Meanwhile, you can carry on using the computer and, in the evnet, you will get a desktop popup advising you that the item has been installed.
