I am running Windows XP and prefer the Theme and Appearance to be "Windows Classic Style".

Intermittently, after reboot, the Appearance reverts to "Windows XP Style"

I have tried to disable the Themes Service under Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, but the Themes service will restart after reboot and boot with the XP Style appearance.

I am OCD so please help if you know a solution! Is there a way to permanently disable the Themes Service?

I prefer not to mess with registry since I have no experience with that.

If you right click on the service and choose properties, you can change so that it does not auto start, just make it as "disabled".
