I am not sure if I am asking this in the correct place - if not perhaps you could advise me which forum to use please.

I was doing a search for a file I had misplaced when a message appeared saying there was an Archive Error (screenshot attached). Could you please tell me what this means and what I have to do - if anything - to fix it.

    Kind regards...Margaret

What were you using for search? If you are using a searcher that caches file locations (such as the Indexing Service), it looks like one of the records it keeps is corrupted.

I was just using the windows search 'dog' - screenshot attached. I was trying to find a folder which had disappeared from My Documents.......the search didn't find it but later it turned up in My Pictures! How would I got about finding a corrupt disk?

    regards Margaret

Start by going to Start > Run, and typing:

    chkdsk /f

Answer "Y" to a check on reboot and reboot.

Try going to Control Panel . Admin Tools > Indexing Service and stopping and restarting the service.
