Are you able to put a SATA 2.5'' SSD in a HP Compaq nx6120?

I just need to test a SSD to see if it still works.
I don't have any other laptops that can be used to test this.

    First Name:
HP Compaq nx6120 Notebook PC (support site)

That's a very old model laptop which came with Windows XP SP2 32-bit and a 40 - 80 GB capacity hard drive.

According to its self-help instruction guide on how to remove/replace a hard drive, it uses a very old IDE connection and not a more modern SATA connection.

I seriously doubt the solid state drive(SSD) you have has an IDE connection.
