Does anyone know where I can find a good list of hidden ASCII characters (eg. note, vampire, etc) and their standard keyboard equivants?

If you are talking about characters that appear in most type-able areas by pressing Alt+ some keypad numbers, or Ctrl+ some other key, then you can use the free ASCIIcat

If you are talking about oddball characters that certain IM tools (like AOL IM, or AIM, or Yahoo Messenger, of MSN Messenger, or Miranda, or IRC, etc.) then you have to refer to those specific help documents or user groups. Every IM tool has its own unique set of special characters.
