Just an idea as this may not be the reason - but have you checked for any sort Spyware ??

If you don't have it then get Spybot Search & Destroy here :

    http://www.spywareinfo.com

Run this and if you have unwittingly downloaded anything adverse it should find it and enable you to delete it.

If you want further info on securing your pc from harmful programs then look here :

    http://www.wilders.org.

Lastly to prevent anything installing to your pc without your express consent do this -

In Internet Explorer go Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and under the heading Browsing look for the two boxes marked Enable Install on Demand - if they are ticked then untick them.

In future you will get a prompt before anything can be dumped on your pc like these well known 'xxx dialers' or other unwanted garbage.

Hope you get your prob. sorted.
