One of the reasons that I have not flashed the bios is because, no matter how many times I read it, their instructions never seem clear to me. I may be making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I want to be confident that I know what I'm doing. The confusion is on some fairly minor points...They go into detail about creating a floppy and placing the afudos.exe, which is the bios utility, on the floppy, but they never say that the same should be done for the bios itself. Therefore, I don't know whether to put both on the same floppy, or on separate floppies. The instructions also speak of using EZflash, lower on the page, put it isn't clear if this is part of afudos or something else. Here is their instructions, if someone will decipher it for me:

Unless there is a good reason to flash it, like a hardware incopatibility, there is really no good reason to do the flash. If it goes wrong yor motherbord is generally rendered useless and you will need to get a replacement BIOS.

Thanks. I'm going to use Afudos, because I don't trust my system not to crash in the middle of the flash. How about the reference to EZFlash, is that part of the Afudos procedure?

Understood. But I do have a good reason.

With EZFLASH all you do is download the BIOS file to floppy and press ALT + F2 and it starts the BIOS flash. The flash utility is built into the BIOS.

FWIW this is the method I use. Both epox and asus have this option.
