I just purchased a new asus p4t motherboard and P4 1.4 GHz cpu. i just can't figrue out how to set the clock and multiplier dip switches. asus is no help. the cpu says 400 MHz FSB, but i really don't know what that means

i can choose from 100 to 150 on core speed and multi form 6.0 to 18.0. should i chose 100 with a 14 multiplier to get my 1.4 GHz?

    Please Help with settings.

yeah, it's 100 x 14 for you. The thing is, P4s quadruple-pump their FSB speeds internally. Since 400 > 100, most ppl who are selling the P4s are using the 400mhz # since it's bigger (4x bigger..of course).
