ATA/SATA Trouble

    Hey again,

    I have a p5ne-sli mobo, is it posslbe ot have 1 ata and 1 sata drive working on this board, i had an asus p5vd2-mx se before and it would not allow it.

    the sata is enabled but do i need to enable raid?

    I can't imagine why your other board didn't allow it, and I'll bet that either of these can be configured to run a mixed environment.

    Usually, that is not a problem. Are you planning on a RAID setup?

    im not sure i fully understand the concept of RAID . i thought it was just having multiple drives.

    It's a bit more than multiple drives. So chances are that you do not want or need a RAID array.
