I have just rebuilt my computer after a major burn up. The only part I didn't need to replace was the CD ROM.

I was able to load my video card drivers, audio card drivers, floppy and hard drive stuff, along with Windows ME.

Now I am trying to put on a program my kids need for school and it keeps hanging up the computer.

Is this a CD ROM driver problem? If so, how do I fix it? The only disk (floppy) I have with CD ROM installation information has a driver the computer doesn't want to use. It says it is using the best driver available.

If it is not a driver problem, could someone please help me?

My CD ROM is as listed above.

Also, I couldn't get the disk with the motherboard and chipset to work. I figured this was also a problem with the CD ROM.

I think this post has a better chance on the hardware forum

    Thanks.

Actually, the CD ROM is working and I can get programs to load. However, it is my kid's computer and they are suppose to be doing schoolwork on it and that is the one program that won't load. I just figured that out yesterday afternoon. I am going to work on that problem for a while now.

    Again, thanks
