    Hello everyone or anyone. I have Vista Home Premium, Nvidia GForce 8500GT, HP Pavilion m7760n, intel dual core 6400, 4 gigs ram. The original video card is an intel chipset 945.
    I have recently received an update through windows automatic update

    Atheros Communications Inc. - Network - HP 802.11b/g Wireless Network Adapter

    driverid=20153294

    but, everytime I install it, the computer freezes. If I reboot by a hard boot, it will not get past the login screen without freezing. The only way to even log on is to boot to safe mode without networking. I have researched the problem, but have come up empty handed.
    If anyone has a solution please let me know. Thank You

    Thankyou JohnWill, but why would Windows release an update on 4/6/08 for this if you don't even need it? Damn Microsoft!:confused:

    I've gone down in flames twice with hardware updates from Windows Update. I'm a slow learner, but I eventually catch on. ;)
