I just purchased a Radeon X800XL and I am having problems with my sound card not working properly anymore. Maybe 1 out of every 3 times my sound will not work on boot up. I dont understand why. Has anyone else had problems with ATI drivers and something like this?

Im confused on what brand of sound card I have since it came with my pc. Is it the realtek or Legacy? Here is a picture of my device manager. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it. And I beleive it is built into the motherboard...

Do you have the latest drivers for the ATI card and audio chip?

You can download the latest Catalyst 5.6 drivers from here: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27

For the sound you will need to find out what motherboard you have or grab the latest generic drivers from the Realtek website: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...s=2004061&Software=True&title=HD Audio CODECs

You will also want to make sure you have the latest chipset drivers installed for your motherboard. These will be provided by someone like Intel, VIA, Nvidia (Nforce), ATI (Xpress), SIS, etc.

Ok dude, I really appreciate your help. This is my PC homepage if this helps out at all, if not, where do I look to find the chipset drivers that I need to install for my motherboard? Im guessing there is a name brand or type on my motherboard itself... Im still slightly new to the hardware field of pcs, thanks for being patient with me!
