Video adapter will not work with any hardware acceleration what so ever. As a result, the computer is running very slow and clumsy. I bought this 16-MB PCI board to replace a defective 8-MB I/OMagic DR-DP500 3D-EP (Permedia chip). If I set any hardware acceleration, the computer will freeze upon booting and requires me to hard boot.

    I have the following:
Motherboard: Alton M575 (PC Chips - Socket 7) with an AMD K6 MMX-300 CPU.
Chipset: Ali ALADDiN IV M1531/43 ver. 179. (TX Pro)
BIOS: Original AMI BIOS v 02.01 and dated 7/17/95
Current AMI BIOS v 1.16 on the BIOS configuration screen are dated 4/2/99.

I hope you can advise on a remedy. Thank you.

First of all, make sure all references to your previous video card have been removed from your system.
