For those of you who are still using or who want to do an install/re-install of Windows Vista SP2, I've created 2 threads which are located at the very top of the list in this section.

One thread provides you with a guide on how to install it and update it to its official EOL date of April 2017.
The other thread provides you with a guide on how to update it to its unofficial post-EOL date of January 2020.

The second part of the process is very time-consuming and involves well over 200 updates during the 33 months long post-EOL period.
I stopped testing the post-EOL process in April 2019, but I plan to continue it again in about 3 months.

Maxthon Cloud Browser 5.3.8.2000 (most current version) is the only browser that I'm aware of that still supports Windows Vista SP2 and which is keep up to date.
I've had no problem with my regularly visited websites not working with it.

More and more software apps (including security-related ones) are dropping support for Windows Vista SP2, so that's one of the main challenges with using it.
I don't advise you to use it for on-line banking and credit card purchases and anything else of a sensitive nature.

If anyone here has any comments or questions or advice (no sarcasm), feel free to jump in.

I had some free time a few days ago, so I installed the post-EOL updates for the period of May 2019 - October 2019.

New servicing stack and SHA-2 updates had to be installed to keep Windows Update working properly.

After January 2020 "patch Tuesday" I plan to install the remaining post-EOL updates for the period of November 2019 - January 2020.

I also plan to update this post-EOL update guide:
