It's now official.
Mozilla Firefox has dropped support for these 2 operating systems with the upcoming release of version 53.
http://news.softpedia.com/news/fire...for-windows-xp-and-windows-vista-514975.shtml

I run both operating systems in a test computer so I can monitor software apps as support is dropped for them.
Most of the software apps that I use in Windows 7 and Windows 10 still work in these operating systems.
The more urgent problem though is being able to be safe on the internet when using an outdated browser.

Try Sandboxie. As it's name implies, it is a sandbox. And everything that makes it to the HD is stored in a sandboxed folder. Downloads you started yourself will be offered to be moved to your regular downloads folder. It is quite good.
