Audacity is giving me some troubles. I have installed the newest version (1.2.3) on a new Windows XP computer with a gig of RAM. I opened up a rather short audio file (around 30 seconds) and when I play it, it starts off fine.

Then, about a second or so into it, the right channel cuts out while the left channel keeps playing. Then the right channel will come back in and play what the left channel just played, essentially picking up where it left off, and the left channel will cut out for a brief time. These are all about a second or so apart.

An earlier version reads the audio files just fine (1.0.0), but the program isn't as flexible as I need it to be.
