I've just installed my new Creative audigy 2 sound card and it seems to be adding reverb to everything even though I have all the sound processing options turned off in the EAX console. It's really annoying, particularly when watching tv on my tv card (which inputs its sound through the line in jack)

Does anyone know how to disable this?

Have you checked the speaker setup in control panel/ sounds and multimedia/audio tab/ click advanced in the preferred playback device?

Also, make sure you don't have a microphone where it will pick up sound from the speakers.

speaker setup is set to desktop stereo speakers, which is the closest thing to my actual set-up (floorstanding hi-fi speakers connected to a 2 channel hifi amp).

There's no mic connected either, any other suggestions?
