Ok, while listening to audio on my Windows Media player, V 11.0, my audio on the WMP AND my system is completely muted immediatly after arriving at websites such as weatherchannel.com, atlantafalcons.com, or any website that appears to be running some type of Java or extraneous video or graphics....Now, sometimes it will happen and sometimes it won't. But when it does happen, it ALWAYS occurs after I have just arrived at an "offending" site and usually just after IE has just blocked a pop-up. The audio never returns unless I restart my system...Now, sometimes the audio returns after I close IE but it is very rare...I have checked all my connections, cords, etc.....when the problem occurs, it always does so after arriving at certain websites and returns after a restart.... I am to the point that I tend to avoid sites I really want to visit because I'm afraid the audio i'm listening to will be killed and I'll need to restart.....

This problem has occurred even after a few repartions of my system!! Problem did not seem to appear after any Windows updates......I'm very VERY sick of this... Please help! [IMG]

I'd maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling Java and Flash Player but before doing so does this only happen with Internet Explorer or with any browser ? Have a look in IE Tools/Manage Add-Ons . Is anything in there disabled when the problem occurs that might be relevant ? In Control Panel/Admin Tools/Event Viewer are there are messages in the system log at the time of failure ?

I'm only throwing ideas in rather than let you think you're being ignored :)

Thanks for the response...here's an update:

    - checked add ins in IE, no relevant items disabled
    - checked event view, nothing listed at the time of problem in System
    - nothing amiss in device manager
    - nothing visually wrong anywhere

the sound just stops and of course comes back after a reboot...still haven't tried a diff browser...

This problem happened again today...i was logged into yahoo mail and a second browser was at cotse.net
