I just installed Vista and found out that my Creative Soundblaster card was not supported, so I bought a 1417v on Newegg:

FYI, the one I got in the mail doesn't have the game port, but an optical port instead. Doesn't matter to me though.

I am struggling to get the drivers to work with this card. I e-mailed manufacturer support and they sent back this:

    -----------------
We have two different cards. The 1417 and the 1417v sound card. One has a
    > Cmedia chipset the other has a VIA chipset. If you have the 1417v you will

    ------------------

But installing this driver just results in an exclamation in device manager saying: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or
missing. (Code 39)" I tried the newest driver and the older beta driver that they provide. The card is installed properly into the PCI slot. I am running Vista Ultimate. Is there something that I am not doing that I should be doing?

    Thanks,
