I am experiencing stutter/dropout on playback on any audio I playback on my recently rebuilt Windows 2000 professional Thinkpad 600x.

The stutter/dropout is very short but significant enough to upset the regular playback of any OGG, MP3, Wav, or audio sequence (I havent checked MIDI).

It manifests itself as either a click of short stutter every second or so.

I have turned off hardware acceleration and fiddled with buffer sizes and thread priorities to no avail.

My Thinkpad has recently been upgraded to W2000 from W98. I experienced no such problems under W98.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
