    Hi,
New member from UK. Apologies if this has been covered in any form - I did look but couldn't easily find an answer.
I want to convert my vinyl and audio cassette collection to PC friendly format eg MP3. I was told I need an audio interface but these seem to vary widely in style, equipment and price. Some appear nothing more than a cable whereas others have a fair number of 'knobs'. Climax, citronic, yamaha and Ion to name but a few. It was suggested to me that a yamaha mixer would do the job as well as allow me to record music from my guitar, keyboards etc., on my PC. I am a bit perplexed as I don't want to buy some apparatus only to have to buy more later on - any advice, pointers or reviews would be much appreciated. My PC spec. is included below.
