I can't play anything on Winamp or any other audio program. After downloading a song on WinMX and I try to play it on winamp, the bar skips across and the song is over within seconds. None of my other audio programs are working either. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be?

Hi eddie5659. I wish you were able to help me but I have tried the other programs and none of them work. Winamp always worked up until a week ago. Any other suggestions?

    Hiya

Have you installed Realplayer lately? If so, this can take away the music playeing rights as it makes RealPlayer the default.

If you haven't, this last file that you downloaded: What was the extension of it?

Do none of the media files that I listed not work on Windows? Ah, no they won't, as WinAmp is for music only. sorry about that. Have you tried some of your music files with WMP?

Can you not play any music from here: http://www.mp3.com

Just trying to narrow this down.

Have you run a virus scan:

    http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Also, go here and download AddAware www.lavasoftusa.org
Install and run it, ensuring that Deep registry Scan is enabled. Remove all except any references to Web3000 or new.net. If you're unsure, copy/paste the list.

Also, whilst you're there, downlaod RefUpdate, Install and run it to get the latest Updates.

    Regards

    eddie
