I'm using the latest version of Media Player Classic (6.4.9.0). Everytime I fast forward to a certain point in a video, the video lags behind the audio and then once synched, the video is sped up for 4 seconds. This may be a codec issue, but I'm not sure which one I need.

Best thing to do if you think its a codec issue is to install the K-Lite codec Pack (link below). it installs pretty much every codec you'll need to play any video. But it sounds like it might not be a codec issue. Maybe your computer just can't keep up with it when you seek too far in a video and when it finally catches up it plays the video faster to sync up to the sound. its happend to me before. but you can try downloading and installing the codec pack and see if it helps.

I know my computer can handle it because video worked fine prior to a HDD format a couple days ago. I forgot to reinstall K-Lite this 2nd time around so I'll give it another try -- thanks.
