auto number

    I am using 2003 access

    i need help
    to generate auto number in mdb file after deleting records

    exmple : my database has 5 record like slno= 1,2,3,4,5,
    if i delete record 3, then it will continued next no is 6. the data base has only 4 records

    how can i set the auto number through visual basic 6.0
    thanks in advance

    The AutoNumber property should be defined when the table structure is created in Access. Generally, this will be done with Access's table design tools and you shouldn't need to do this with VB6. Access will then handle incrementing the number for you.

    nagarajachari, welcome to the forum.
    Can I ask why you think you need to chnage the Numbering when a Record is deleted?
