Auto turn off????

Hi,,
Is there a way to set your computer to turn off after a certain amount of
time of inactivity?

Yea this can be done in power options in control panel.
You have options for like monitor off, hibernation, turn off

You can't turn off your machine with the power options,just the monitor & hard drive,or a combination of those.

Hibernation will shut off everything.What this does is take everything that is in ram and put it to hard drive.When you start back up your computer will load the documents and application you had open.Hibernation consumes no electricity at all.What happenns is when you hit the start button after hibernation the sytems loads the files stored in hibernation rather that having to boot up from scratch.
P.S you will still need to do a reboot once in a while like after installing programs and such.
