I am looking for a way (or a program) to autmatically send emails with specific messages to specific people on specific days during the month.

I have tried using recurrence reminders and meeting requests but it doesn't seem to work.

As an example, on the first of every month I would like to automatically send an email to those I supervise to remind them to send in their safety committee reports and get a receipt that it was sent and picked up.

If someone could post instructions it would be helpful.

Thanks. Great site and well run!

I've seen a lot of PM applications that have periodic reminders that will send an email if configured to do so. I think that's probably the easiest way to do it. You could also checkout sendEmail, it sounds like a simple solution. You could just schedule this with Windows scheduler and it'll fire off the email for you. Here's another one, sendSMTP, free for personal use, but it's only $18 for business.
