We have a server near the front door and would like to attach a 4 port usb switch to it with drives so that when we needed to take something to a meeting, we could put it on them via a network share and grab it as we walked out the door. The server has two front usb ports, and we would use one of them for this 4 port usb switch. It runs Server2012 essentials.

    • it would save the drive letter and the USB name, so that we could see that we are saving it to the red one, blue one, green one, etc.
It would no require a program to run, or a free/cheap program
It would not matter which port we plug the drive into
It would not matter if we have 6 drives and 4 ports, so that each drive had a letter/name that traveled with it

I would also take having the ports labeled as W,X,Y,Z and sending something to share-z would always be the right most port or something, but would prefer to have the drives labeled and not the port.

    Anybody have any ideas?
