    Hi,

Currently I am having acer laptop 4738Z model that I purchased last year in the month of February.

I use it on ac power more often that in battery mode.

On an average, I work on laptop for about 5 hours in ac power mode and merely 1 hour on battery mode.

Please tell me the average lifetime of the battery that I can have from this kind of usage.

    regards,
    Proffy

Laptop batteries do usually drain fairly fast, especially if you're doing a lot on them. Though 1 hour is pretty short.

When your laptop is disconnected from AC adapter, do you turn on Power Saving Mode?

Do you turn your brightness down?

Do you just browse the web/perform simple tasks that aren't power hungry?

Also, whenever you are running your laptop from the AC adapter, take out the battery. Leaving the battery in while it's plugged in to the charger long-term can cause your battery to die out faster than it should.

I checked the specs on your laptop and it would seem that it did not have all that great of battery capacity even when new. It shows a max of 3hr and that is always with minimal pw usage ie not running a movie, accessing the hard drive, etc.

After you have used the laptop for a while, the battery life is going to degrade over time.
