I got a brand new PC last week, and between turning it on and downloading firewalls and updates I got LOP.AS, which AVG always finds (about every 10 mins) and says that AVG removed the object, but it never does. Somtimes it requires a restart - but still doesn't heal. I see that many other people have this problem, but I don't know how to solve it. The offending file is always a hidden file (that doesn't exist) to do with IE5. lo1. and other things like this. I have been reading other people's help and they all seem to start by needing a HJT reading, so I have posted one in antisipation.

Please can sombody help me get my new computer working as it sould do.

Thanks in advance, Ben

Hi and welcome to TSG,

Download WinPFind.exe to your desktop and double click on it open it and then select “extract” to extract the files. This will create a folder named WinPFind on your desktop.

Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:

  • Restart the computer.
  • As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the boot menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
  • Press the Enter key.

Double click on the WinPFind folder on your desktop to open it and then double click on the WinPFind.exe file to start the program.

  • Click “Configure scan options”
  • Under “Run AdOns” select the following:
    • Policies.def
    • Security.def
  • Click “apply”
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient and let it complete.

When the scan is complete reboot normally and post the WinPFind.txt file (located in the WinPFind folder) back here along with a new HijackThis log.

I'm attaching a Fixdj.zip file to this post. Save it to your desktop. Unzip it and double click the Fixdj.reg file and allow it to enter into the registry.

Rescan with HijackThis, close all browser windows except HijackThis, put a check mark beside these entries and click fix checked.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A9CB8FDD-B26B-422C-8E24-E0C8E64E918A} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\nnlmjhg.dll

O20 - Winlogon Notify: winwpx32 - winwpx32.dll (file missing)

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  • Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nnlmjhg.dll

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.
  • Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
  • Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
  • Paste the text copied to clipboard into this window by pressing (Ctrl+V).
  • Click Done
  • Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  • It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Go to the following link and upload each of the following files for analysis and let me know what the results are please:

Thanks for all the info, i ran HJT with the 2 boxes selected, and the log is above.

I then ran Winpfind, but forgot to do it in safe mode with the ad ons selected (as you told me to last time). So i rebooted into safe mode and selected them.

I attatched both logs

hope this is right

thanks again

Ben
